Whenever our breathing suffers, our health suffers. Much of the time, we are not taught how to harness the full potential of our innate healing powers. Because of this disconnect, we encounter difficulty - physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Soma Breath Therapy aims to find this awareness, allowing you to re-establish a proper relationship between the physical body and our respiratory mechanism.
Inspired by osteopathic principles and ancient Yoga methods, Emily conducts a full assessment observing your basic movements, assessing your range and ease of motion as well as establishing if there is any pain or dysfunction. In a session, you will be guided to first tune into your existing breathing pattern. Using gentle touch and guided meditation, Emily then teaches you plug into a conscious regulation of your breath in order to find expansiveness, ease and often: release.
Providing a compassionate and holistic approach, Emily combines this with mobilisation and crania-sacral techniques, deep tissue work, myofascial release and trigger point techniques to restore the body back to equilibrium. Rehabilitation, yoga and meditation exercises are also offered to suit specific needs such as injuries or anatomical variations. Each session is uniquely tailored to each individual to find maintenance, regulation and freedom binding breath and body.
